I've been meaning to buy a mini Christmas tree for a little while and today I finally got around to it. Then all of a sudden I found myself in a pile of ribbons, glitter and christmassy mess! I have swapped out some of the decor in my bedroom for xmas pieces and I couldn't be more excited for Christmas (24 days til' Christmas!!) This year I went for the traditional red, white, silver and gold theme.
Enjoy:
I got my xmas tree ($3.50), the mini baubles ($2.50) and the mini wreath ($3.50) above my bed from the $2 shop.
I made this garland last year.
I use this Zoella lip balm daily and the 'Hungry Hands' hand cream smells incredible.
And that's all for today, who else is excited for christmas?
Today I came home and to much joy, I received my ColouPop order. As I am 'growing up', I'd say I'm becoming more responsible with money... I do a few babysitting jobs here and there so I am able to spend money however I want as long as I am responsible. This was my first ever order that I payed for and addressed it to myself (although, I don't have a credit card or anything yet so my mum payed for it using her card and I payed her in cash). I finally felt like a mini adult just for a split second. Of course, I rushed upstairs and whipped my camera out as fast as possible so I could take some very artsy photos, haha. Enjoy! (I am not in any way a makeup-ey person and I haven't used any of the products so this post is just for showing you what I got)
It was such cute packaging and a really sweet note to go with.
I got a fan brush for highlighter and bronzer and a blending brush for eyeshadow. I also got the amethyst priming spray and the aventurine setting spray for a good base and finish.
I still wouldn't say I'm quite old enough for wearing makeup.... or even if I am, I only ever wear a light coat of mascara, some blush, and maybe fill in my brows on very rare occasions, so this lipstick was ONLY a purchase for dance. A good ol' red lip is always required in a dance eisteddfod or concert and I was still using one I got for my first ever concert which was WAY too long ago (9 or 10 years?!).
And as for the eyes, I picked up a trusty 'natural' palette for dance and for the extreme cases on the weekend where I am going somewhere extremely fancy. I also got an eyebrow pencil or crayon or whatever and some eyebrow gel. I am a redhead and had no idea what colour to get so I went with blonde just to play it safe (I'd rather it lighter than darker) even though I probably could've gotten the light brown.
I hope you found it interesting to see what I went for as an amateur makeup-ey person. Don't forget to check out my Instagram that I started up recently... and I'll talk soon! xx
recipe for a stylish bedroom 9/05/2017
hello hello hellooooooooooooooo. i apologise that i have been gone for so long... this post ended up taking about 2 weeks on and off but its here now:
1. so of course number one on my list is A MIRROR!!! The reason they are the top on my list is because they make any room so much more bright, open and airy... it also doesn't matter how simple or stylish your room is because there is a mirror for everyone. here are some of my faves : -simple (ikea) -classy chic (ikea) -industrial (urban outfitters) -decorative sun (target) -wall hanging (urban outfitters) 2. you know all of those essay marks and reports from school that you keep randomly losing and finding again? or what about your treasured lucky pen that isn't even lucky? yeah, that's the reason why you need storage in your room. it. is. essential. a few storage boxes or bins here and there definitely won't hurt so i recommend you look into purchasing some if you haven't already (you are crazy if you haven't). i think it's best to play it safe and go for a plain colour... or on the other hand you could go crazy with decorating your own boxes with who-knows-what. these are your best bets: CLICK HERE ... OR HERE 3. now, this one's a bit vague but hang in there for a second. another vital step to making your dream bedroom is having your main colour be WHITE. not grey, not cream, not any other colour, just white. i don't think i can stress how important a blank canvas is, especially if you're like me and like to change the theme of your bedroom constantly. it is very difficult to do that when your wall is hot pink or electric yellow. 4. next, be sure to add texture!! you can really easily do this with a faux fur pillow, blanket or rug or with textured fabrics, also on pillows, blankets and rugs. a cork inspiration board/bulletin board will also do the trick and introduce some texture into a bedroom. 5. plants are great. they add so much LIFE to your bedroom... maybe because they're alive? real or fake, they really are great. and adding on from no. 4, they are also a great way to add even more texture to your bedroom! ikea has some great options... i hope to add to my plant collection in the next few months too!
so that's mostly it i think! if you go and do those 5 things, your bedroom will be on its way to super elegant and stylish!! hope this helped :) i'll try to post as much as possible during the school term - i promise! but bye for now xoxo
